Hey Scarborough! Here's what's happening this week π
North Yorkshire Council has approved a 40p entry fee for public toilets across the county - down from the 50p originally proposed, which is the kind of compromise that will feel either reasonable or deeply irritating depending on how urgently you need one. The council runs more toilet blocks than any other authority in the UK - 85 in total - and it cost Β£230,000 to keep them open last year.
On a different note entirely, Xanders is hosting a Cher-themed bottomless brunch on 16 May - tribute act, two hours of drinks, Β£39.95 a head. Whether that's your idea of a Saturday afternoon well spent is between you and the sequins.
Eden Camp near Malton has published its full 2026 events season, running from Drive it Day in April through to Halloween Street in November. The restored 1942 prisoner of war camp drew over 100,000 visitors in 2025.
If a proper weekend away is more appealing, The Grand in York is offering 30% off bed and breakfast and dinner rates this spring, a Grade I listed Edwardian hotel in the centre of the city.

The Key to Better aging: More NAD+
Most skincare works on the surface. Aramore goes where real aging begins: the basal layer of the skin, where new cells form. Backed by decades of research from Harvard and MIT scientists, Aramore is the first topical system designed to support skinβs NAD+ β the molecule your cells rely on for repair, energy, and resilience.
As NAD+ naturally declines with age, visible changes follow: dullness, uneven tone, fine lines, and loss of firmness. Aramoreβs unique complex of NAD+ precursors, ketones, and fatty acids helps replenish cells at the source for skin that acts healthier and younger.
Clinically shown to improve tone, radiance, smoothness, and firmness as soon as 28 days.

π Whitby's High Street Gets a Leg Up. An Β£89,353 grant from the Mayor of York and North Yorkshire will fund an expansion of Whitby's Christmas Festival and new events on Baxtergate, including a Fire and Ice Trail planned for January 2027. Talks are underway with the council about a deep clean of the street.
ποΈ Little Bird Lands in Malton Again. The Little Bird Made Artisan Market returns to Malton this Saturday, 25 April, with original art, local preserves, handcrafted bakes, and homeware. It's the market's third visit to the town this year.
βοΈ Solar Panels Cut Costs on the Coast. A Β£1,063,000 Great British Energy grant has funded solar panels across sixteen community buildings on the Yorkshire Coast, including Whitby Leisure Centre and the Eastfield Police Station. Savings are estimated at Β£4 million over the lifetime of the technology.
πͺ Eden Camp Lines Up a Busy 2026. The Malton military museum has announced its full 2026 events season, running from Drive it Day in April through to Halloween Street in November. The site - a restored 1942 prisoner of war camp - welcomed over 100,000 visitors in 2025.

If you are looking to escape the daily routine, the Salus Spa at Aldwark Manor is an excellent spot for a local getaway. Located between York and Harrogate, it is easy to reach but feels isolated enough to actually unwind.
The spa facilities include thermal experiences and a range of treatments that focus on recovery. It works well if you prefer high-end modern facilities within a traditional countryside setting.
The on-site dining at the Brasserie means you don't have to worry about travel once you have arrived, allowing you to spend the whole weekend relaxing on-site.
