Teddy Boy Invasion Coming To Scarborough Spa
π The Scarborough Rundown - Events, Activities, Live Music & Good News! π
Hey Scarborough! Here's what's happening this week π
The Spa Grand Hall is set for a nostalgic takeover on 19 June as Showaddywaddy roll into town. It is a rare opportunity to see the group celebrate fifty years at the top of the pile. Whether you are there for the music or the fashion, it is a staple of the local summer calendar.
Before that, Xanders is throwing an ABBA bottomless brunch on 5 April. If you fancy yourself a bit of a dancing queen, this Sunday session is the place to be. Just make sure to get your name down early, as these tables tend to disappear faster than a cheap umbrella in a gale.
If you have missed the sensation of being pruned, you will be glad to know the Alpamare infinity pool has reopened for weekend visitors. It remains the premier spot to relax and realise that Scarborough's coastline is much more attractive when you are sat in a warm whirlpool.
Finally, for those who need a total change of scenery, there is a 20% discount on luxury stays in Tenerife at the H10 Atlantic Sunset. It is a five-star oceanfront resort that offers a bit of luxury for less, perfect for a 2026 getaway when the North Yorkshire moors feel a bit too damp.

π° Scarborough Life
π¬ Scarborough Film Festival Returns. Swap the sofa for the cinema as fabulous films and events take over our town this March. From local music videos to a movie quiz, there is plenty to realise your inner critic.
π ABBA Themed Bottomless Brunch. Mamma Mia, here we go again on 5 April. Grab your dancing queens for a properly boozy Sunday session at Xanders. Just ensure you message the team to secure a table before they all vanish.
πΆ Rock and Roll Royalty. Grab your teddy boy gear because Showaddywaddy are bringing their greatest hits to the Spa Grand Hall on 19 June. It is a chance to realise why they have been top of the pile for five decades.
π Alpamare Infinity Pool Reopens. The much-loved heated infinity pool is now open for weekend splashing. It is the perfect spot to relax and realise that those bay views are far better from a whirlpool.
β² A New Bronze Belle. Scarborough's 400th anniversary as a spa town brings a striking sculpture to South Bay. Crafted by a Madame Tussauds regular, it celebrates Thomasin Farrer-the local woman who first realised those healing waters weren't just for the fish.
π Full Steam Ahead. The York to Scarborough line is seeing record passenger numbers this year as everyone flocks to the coast. While services might double by 2028, for now, we must realise that "standing room only" is the new local fashion.
ποΈ High Street Revamp. Alison Hume is pushing to fill boarded-up units through flexible "meanwhile use" agreements. Our MP wants the council to realise that temporary shops are far better for the town's soul than empty windows.
β¨ Book Early and Enjoy Luxury for Less. Stay at the five-star H10 Atlantic Sunset Horizons Collection in Playa ParaΓso, Tenerife. An oceanfront resort with elegant rooms, Atlantic views, spacious pools and excellent dining. Save up to 20% on stays until December 2026. Find out more.
π Bridging the Gap. Complicated repairs to the historic Bridge 42 mean the North Yorkshire Moors Railway season starts with a shortened route. Heritage fans must realise that trips to Whitby are paused until April while engineers prop up this Victorian icon.
π Whitby Cliff Lift Crisis. Local folk are up in arms over plans to scrap the 93-year-old West Cliff Lift. Residents and councillors want the council to realise that denying beach access for those with disabilities is a total non-starter.
π Whitby Flood Defences Approved. A Β£180,000 grant will help local homeowners upgrade properties against extreme water levels. New flood doors and barriers aim to ensure residents realise a drier future as the River Esk behaves itself.
π Mending the Moors. MP Alison Hume has stepped in to accelerate repairs for fences destroyed by the Langdale wildfire.
